Young Carers Project with BFSS

Our Young Carers project, funded by the British and Foreign School Society, is still going strong at Bethany Junior School.

The year 5 and 6 Young Carers enjoyed a fun-filled autumn term with educational games, problem solving activities, homework help, computer programming and group discussions. The term finished with a Christmas party.

Skills learned included team working and supporting others, resilience, communication, building a positive sense of self and a “will try” attitude. Our young carers have reported enjoying their sessions and are showing growth in confidence.

Our group has continued with their learning this term, and this half term a new group will start tomorrow, the 28th of February. The Young Carers in year 3 and 4 at Bethany will make up the new group and will be taking part in a variety of new activities to learn personal development skills and help with school and homework.

We are excited to welcome our new Young Carers and look forward to hearing about the new activities and skills they learn.
