Our Story

Connie Rothman Learning Trust is a non-profit learning centre based in Southbourne, Bournemouth, previously a tuition business. We transitioned to a charity in early 2017 as we wanted to expand our services to reach more children. We began offering full-time teaching to children who had self-excluded from schools. We started to plan charitable projects to reach children who would not have otherwise been able to access tuition. We developed more individualised and personal teaching methods for our students. We felt that the change to becoming an independent and charitable organisation was necessary as we no longer fit into the franchise. Our work is inspired by and dedicated to the late Connie Rothman – see more on our background page.

Our tutors come from a wide range of teaching backgrounds, all with a wealth of experience in a number of subject areas. We primarily teach maths, English and science, but can offer tuition in many other subjects, including law and business. Many have a background in classroom teaching, some have post-graduate qualifications, and some are fresh from learning in the classroom themselves – because of this, we are able to match learners’ styles and requirements to tutors based on suitability. All of our team are DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service, formerly CRB) and reference checked.
